Shehjaar Foundation from its inception used to provide monthly assistance to widows and economically weak women but after observing the negative impact of this practice on the psychological health of such women foundation started income generating programmes wherein such women are provided employment. Shehjaar Library In October, 2004, HELP Foundation, Jammu and Kashmir, set up a library by the name of "Shehjaar Library" at the uptown Srinagar locality of Gogji Bagh  for the benefit of senior citizens, students, researchers  and candidates of competitive examinations. Apart from keeping various national and local newspapers and magazines available for the visitors, it has a rich collection of books by reputed authors on a number of subjects. The main objective behind setting up of the facility is to generate in the younger generation an insatiable quest for knowledge and also make a space available  for senior citizens where they can share and shape their ideas and experiences.     Read more...

Shehjaar  Computer  Centre In the year 2006 a computer  centre fully equipped  with necessary  accessories has been set up. The Centre provides free computer education to orphans and underprivileged children. The total number of students enrolled till date is 150. At present 40 such students have been enrolled. The Centre offers basic courses which includes windows office 2003, HTML, In Page and Visual Basics. We plan to offer High Level Languages  and  also  Hardware  and  Networking  courses  in future.  It is located  at  SHEHJAAR Complex  lnderhama. Apart  from  having  Shehjaar  computer  centre  at  Srinagar  we  also  have  network  of computer centre's like Shehjaar Computer Centre Khumriyal Lolab Kupwara. Rawathpora Library and Computer Centre. Mawar Computer Centre. Distribution of free computers to 10 students across the state.

SHEHJAAR THEATRE GROUP  HELP Foundation ever since its inception in 1997 has been helping the downtrodden people in the society. The emphasis of its programmes is helping deserving people in getting better education, extending help in medical care, taking care of orphans and empowerment of women.  As part of its education programmes the Foundation have organized big events like Children’s Theatre Festival in November 2007, children’s film festivals (in 2006, 2007 & 2008). These events were first of its kind in the valley and were a great success. The Foundation has its own theatre personalities working for it. These people so far, have conducted theatre training classes/Workshops for different children mostly students from the schools within and outside Srinagar. The trained students have participated in several programmes mainly cultural activities like plays on social issues, heritage, Psycho Social, Kashmiri folk & Music and dance on stage and in other festive occasions.
