HELP Foundation, J&K is a Civil Society Organisation (CSO) working for the Psycho Social and Socio economic development of victims of Kashmir Conflict. The core areas of intervention remain Education, Health Care and Economic empowerment of Women and youth. HELP Foundation, J&K has been incorporated in year 1997 as a Society by Mrs. Nighat Shafi (View Profile) with the support of a dedicated team of her colleagues, fellow workers and volunteers. In a short span of time HELP created a niche in the field of Societal Development by providing sellable skills to downtrodden, who otherwise would have been victimised by the unending poverty and economic deprivation in the state. SHEHJAR® is the only Registered trade name for hand made products of Kashmir backed by a collective of underprivileged women workers who have suffered the most during two decade long political unrest in the valley. Widows and underprivileged women who were on doles by Foundation for years were given skills. These ladies nowadays work at their homes and many of them at Production centres run by the Foundation and sell their produces under the brand name of SHEHJAR through open market selling/Exhibitions and or through SHEHJAR Bazar (Non profit based sales outlet by the Foundation).

- SHEHJAR Empowerment Centre
HELP established SHEHJAR Empowerment Centre in 2000, with the aim of providing vocational training to impoverished women and widows to ensure their self-sustainability. Several Empowerment Centres have been established in various districts from time to time which include Tailoring Centres, Craft Centres, Food Processing Centres.....

HELP Foundation, J&K established SHEHJAR Home for special children in year 1998, since then upbringing of children with special needs has remained main area of operation of Foundation. HELP provide boarding and lodging to 50 such children on regular basis.
- SHEHJAR Community Res. Centre
Established in 2012; a multi-facility resource centre that has almost 10 training models available for girls who have no means of wherewithal. This centre was primarily established at Salkoot Kupwara, later on its sub centres were opened at different places like Sogam, Inderhama etc.
